The trailer of Zoya Akhtar’s third directorial venture and one of the most anticipated movies of 2015, Dil Dhadakne Do, was launched on Wednesday and crossed 2 million views within a day. The movie starring Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma and Farhan Akhtar is about a dysfunctional Punjabi family on a cruise trip. We absolutely LOVED the trailer and here’s a list of reasons why you should look forward to the movie.
1.The Ensemble Cast
It’s not everyday that you come across a movie having a bag full of actors leading their generations. On one hand you have the evergreen Anil Kapoor supported by Shefali Shah, on the other you have the multi-talented Priyanka Chopra and the new crop of Ranveer, Anushka & Farhan are like icing(s) on the cake. It doesn’t get better & fresher than this!
2. Zoya Akhtar
After the humungous success of Zoya’s previous film, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, it’s only normal to have high expectations from her next one. She’s deemed as one of the most promising young director of the industry and rightfully so. Plus, the Zoya and Farhan combination has hardly ever disappointed us.
3. Cruise Trip
Do you remember the last movie you watched while sailing? Not literally, but you know what we mean. While ZNMD took you on a road trip, Dil Dhadakne Do is ready to take you on a cruise trip. The entire cast & crew of the movie had a ball while shooting on the cruise and it’s only expected for the same element to translate on-screen so yes, we cannot wait to sail through this journey.
4. Locales
Remember the beautiful scenery, roads and streets of Spain you got to experience in ZNMD? Well, Zoya takes it a notch higher with DDD and makes you travel throughout Europe specifically Italy, France, Tunisia, Spain and Turkey. The behind the scenes pictures have definitely taken our breath away!
5. Anushka & Ranveer
How can you forget the adorable pair of Bittoo and Shruti from Band Baaja Baaraat? They are back together to spin their magic all over again. Ranveer plays a Punjabi boy, Kabir Mehra, who’s under constant pressure from his parents to get hitched while Anushka plays a Muslim girl, Farah Ali, who has eloped from her house to chase her dream. Their love story is going to be a treat for sure and needless to say, we can’t wait to see them burning up our screen again!
6. The Siblings: Ranveer & Priyanka
We’ve seen them romancing each other on-screen in Gunday but here they play siblings so it’s definitely going to be a sight to watch out for. Even though the trailer has already given us a glimpse of their bonding in the movie, we just can’t wait to see the sibling love brewing out in the movie.
7. Farhan Akhtar
How can you miss that killer smile and those intoxicating looks? To say that he’s a multi-talented artist is an understatement in itself. Farhan’s vision, whether as an actor or as a director, has always been incredible which makes us all the more excited for DDD. Plus, his jodi with Priyanka is definitely to look out for. In Farhan, we trust!
8. Music
We only got a sneak listen to the music and now we cannot wait to hear the full soundtrack by the great trio of Shankar Ehsaan and Loy. We do know Sunidhi Chauhan is featured on the OST as well as Sid Mahadevan and eagerly await to hear who else is on the OST. Zoya’s movie music always rocks and so for now we will have to wait, watch and eagerly anticipate listening to what we expect, if the first notes are anything to go by, another fabulous set of tracks!
