Ever since it was first announced that Imtiaz Ali would be directing Anushka Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan in a film together, fans and we have been eager to see the story come to life on the big screen. We then got the first glimpses of Jab Harry Met Sejal with the unique mini trails, got even more excited with the song videos and then once the trailer released we knew this was a movie that would be on the top of our personal ‘movies we want to see’ lists.
The film, which releases this Friday, tells the story of a cute meeting that leads to a search for Sejal’s engagement ring. During Harry and Sejal’s journey together there is love, life, lies, thrills, fantasy and finding and listening to the voice within.
Check out some of the reasons we can’t wait to see Jab Harry Met Sejal!
1. The Director: Coined by actor Shah Rukh Khan as the new “Yash Chopra,” Imtiaz Ali gives a new meaning to the words romance and film making. Considered one of the best directors in Hindi films, Imtiaz Ali always creates something amazing with the stories he brings to life. Not only that, he brings out outstanding performances from his actors and we are eager to see what Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, two brilliant actors, show in Jab Harry Met Sejal.
2. The Actress: Anushka Sharma. Actress, model, and producer are just few of the hats this talent wears. Sharma isn’t afraid to play the run of the mill type characters. She always graces the audience with her simple beauty and raw talent. While starring opposite among legends, like Khan, she continues to hold her own in the industry and shines.
3. Scenery: While India is a beautiful and enriching country – it is refreshing to see new films with different scenery. In Jab Harry Met Sejal, the backdrops of the scenes are various locations around Europe including Prague, Budapest and Amsterdam. There’s nothing like beautiful actors in a beautiful setting.
4. Soundtrack: Pritam is a music composing legend. His works can be heard from superhits like Dhoom 2, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and Jab We Met to name just a few. So far we have heard ‘Radha’, ‘Beech Beech Mein’, ‘Butterfly’, ‘Safar’, and ‘Hawayein’ from the JHMS soundtrack and loved every single one. Now we can’t wait to see them play within the film, because they always, always get better.
5. The Actor: I mean it has Shah Rukh Khan in it…need we say more? Just that one shot of him gazing longingly at her and we were lost, and that was just one shot!
6. Romance: Bollywood is coming back to a boy meets a girl and they hopefully get their HEA (happily ever after) and we love it! Give us a good love story, add in great actors and gorgeous music and we have well… Jab Harry Met Sejal and we are so excited!
7. The Jodi: From the first scene in their first film, we knew we were seeing a jodi that will be one that stands the test of time. Shah Rukh and Anushka have an energy that sparks off the screen and their performances together are always good. Plus leading back to reason 6, we love love and seeing these two in a prem kahani is, from what we can tell so far, pure magic.
8. The Story: Moviegoers of all ages will be able to appreciate the creative and authenticity of a film where taking the adventure of a lifetime of finding oneself and love on the way. Did we say we love a love story? But it is also more and that makes Jab Harry Met Sejal a film we cannot wait to see.
