Look how quickly time has flown! One year after crowning Aamir Khan’s appearance in Time Magazine as number 1; BollySpice brings to you our list of the 10 magazine covers which we loved the most in 2013. In a year which marks the centenary of Indian Cinema, there were some truly delightful covers that emerged this year. Though we can’t include all of them, here are the 10 we felt made a mark this year. Enjoy!
10. Saif Ali Khan – GQ India (January 2013)
Though 2013 was a bland year for Saif Ali Khan, nevertheless; he looked incredibly stylish in this edition of GQ India. Saif’s outfit is not only cool, but also smelling of wealth and class.
9. Katrina Kaif – Hello Magazine (September 2013)
Though we saw little of her this year, Katrina wowed us with this elegant edition of Hello Magazine. Katrina looks stunning in her backless dress and the black and white theme makes it all the more riveting to look at.
8. Hrithik Roshan – Filmfare Magazine (November 2013)
Hrithik Roshan proved that he’s still a ladies man in November’s edition of Filmfare. Hrithik’s outfit is not only has a nice smart-casual liking about it; but his pose also gives the cover that masculine touch.
7. Deepika Padukone – Femina Magazine (August 2013)
Deepika Padukone delivers a splendid tribute to 100 years of Indian Cinema in this edition of Femina Magazine. You can see Deepika clearly showing what the Indian heroine was like and how she is now. An ingeniously shot cover; we’d be a fool to leave this one out!
6. Ranveer Singh – GQ India (September 2013)
He’s by far one of 2013’s most successful actors. Yet Ranveer Singh was not afraid to show his scary side in this edition of GQ magazine. Ranveer unique pose makes this one of the stand-out covers of this year and hence deserves a place on our list!
5. Vidya Balan – CineBlitz Magazine (April 2013)
Paying tribute to the classic film Mother India (1957), Vidya Balan offers a great pose in CineBlitz’s tribute to 100 years of Indian Cinema. Vidya gets Nargis’ look just right, which gives it a nice authentic touch to it.
4. Class of 2013 – Vogue India (November 2013)
Another wonderful cover which features Bollywood’s hottest new actors who have made a lasting mark. They include Ayushmann Khurrana, Parineeti Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Arjun Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput. This cover not only makes them look stylish, but also shows that they are here to make a change in Bollywood!
3. Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor & Siddharth Roy Kapur – Filmfare Magazine (April 2013)
We love this particular cover due to the fact that it features some of Bollywood’s premier filmmakers as opposed to actors. Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor and Siddharth Roy Kapur look sophisticated and graceful in this edition of Filmfare. It is another key magazine cover that was one of the highlights of 2013!
2. Deepika Padukone – Vogue India (September 2013)
Deepika Padukone dominated 2013 with four back-to-back hits, making her one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood history. This creative edition of Vogue brilliantly illustrates Deepika’s position in the industry today and therefore makes it our official runner-up!

In a year which marks the centenary of Indian Cinema, Filmfare probably gave the finest tribute by featuring three of Bollywood’s greatest actors on the cover of its special edition. Shah Rukh Khan, Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan created history by working together to pull off a captivating pose to mark the centenary. Hats off to all three actors and to Filmfare also for making this one of India’s most iconic magazine covers!
