Welcome 2014! As we all gear up for a new year and hopefully a new beginning, Bollywood has some stories to complete in the coming year. The list of sequels for 2014 is one promising list as the prequels of these particular films have been majorly appreciated and applauded. Here is your list to know what to look forward to!
Dedh Ishqiya
The 2010 film Ishqiya starring Naseeruddin Shah, Vidya Balan and Arshad Warsi was indeed one of the best films of that year, and now on 10th January, 2014 we have its sequel Dedh Ishqiya coming out with Madhuri Dixit, Huma Qureshi, Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi in the lead roles. With Madhuri’s ‘Humari Atariya’ ada and the interesting trailer of this film, we really have our bets on this sequel!
Shaadi Ke Side Effects
This film is a sequel to the Rahul Bose-Mallika Sherawat starrer Pyaar Ke Side Effects. With Vidya Balan and Farhan Akhtar in the lead, this sequel’s trailer gives out a little clue about the entertaining ups and downs of married life. The film is scheduled to release on 14th February, 2014.
Welcome Back
Anees Bazmee’s 2007 film Welcome had us totally whacked out and now it is time for Welcome Back with an ensemble cast starring John Abraham and Shruti Hassaan as the new leads, while Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Nana Patekar will be seen in their former roles once again as Majnoo, Ghungroo and Uday Shetty respectively. Let’s hope the sequel is really welcomed back!
Dostana 2
We have our fingers crossed for this sequel to finally hit the big screen this year! There has been a lot of speculation about the lead actress as well as the additional cast to the original pair of John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan. Arjun Rampal, Riteish Deshmukh, Dino Morea and Shreyas Talpade will reportedly be a part of the sequel and Katrina Kaif will be seen as the female lead. Dostana 2 will release on 20th June, 2014.
Hate Story 2
Hate Story 2 is the sequel to Vikram Bhatt’s 2012 film Hate Story, which revolved around revenge. The sequel will also reportedly be a revenge thriller starring Jay Bhanushali, Surveen Chawla and Sushant Singh. With a fresh star cast, this sequel will surely be something to look out for!
Raginia MMS 2
This is the sequel to the 2011 film Ragini MMS and Sunny Leone is reportedly playing the role of a Bollywood actress. Ragini MMS 2 will also be a horror film and it stars Sandhya Mridul, Parvin Dabas and Anita Hassanandani as well. The film is slated to release on 21st March, 2014.
Singham 2
Rohit Shetty’s 2011 film Singham starring Ajay Devgn and Kajal Aggarwal was a super hit in every way, and now Singham 2 will hit the screens on 15th August, 2014. Although there is a debate about the lead actress, we know we have our original Singham Ajay Devgn. This is surely another sequel that we hope will do as well as its prequel!
Bhoothnath Returns
Amitabh Bachchan’s performance in the 2008 film Bhoothnath was much loved and there have been reports everywhere about its sequel since a long time now. Bhoothnath Returns will reportedly release in mid-2014 with Big B and SRK in their former characters once again.
Commando 2
Commando was one film that pleasantly surprised the audience, so there is no doubt that Commando 2 will be another sequel to be looked forward to in 2014. Vidyut Jamwal and Pooja Chopra will continue to be a part of the sequel and the film is said to release by September.
