In a gift from heaven for her legions of fans, 80s superstar Rekha has said she’s planning to pen her autobiography. “Yes, I have been picking up the pieces of my life from the memories of the past,” she says, “I have been carefully going back in time to identify every person who has shaped my life and made me realise that I am a product of love. What I am doing cannot be expressed in just a few words. I want to express my gratitude with visuals as well as with words.”
Rekha recently opened Shilpa Shetty’s first spa at Khar and the two are very close. “Rekha, according to me, is the perfect Bollywood diva,” Shilpa confirms, “There’s such a mystique surrounding her. We’ve constantly been in touch to discuss many things.”
Rekha, who will make her next screen appearance in Sadiyaan with fellow 80s superstars Rishi Kapoor and Hema Malini is also tipped to possibly appear in Krissh 2 next year with Hrithik Roshan. She recently spoke about how important directors are to a star at the Gollapudi Srinivas Awards which are given every year to debutante directors. “I’m what I am on celluloid because of one person – the director,” she explained, presenting this year’s award to Paresh Mokashi, “And I would like to salute the parenting, nurturing and guiding roles of a director.”
