The sequel to Rock on!! (2008) is now busy filming.
Sources state that the script demanded a picturesque location. Well, India is certainly not devoid of that!
The lucky town to have been chosen is that of Shillong. Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya is also known as “The Abode of Clouds”.
The small town’s beauty is sure to captivate it’s audience on the big screen – a huge plus already as the sequel has big boots to fill. It’s prequel Rock on!! was critically acclaimed despite not doing exceptionally well at the box office.
The BBC for instance described Rock on!! as, “an enthralling watch, with entertaining moments to make you smile. Predicted to be a cult movie for many years to come, it truly deserves the Bollywood awards this year! A must-see whether you are a rock fan or not!”
Director Shujaat Saudgaar and Farhan Akhtar have arrived at Shillong and are expected to be joined by the rest of the team in due course.
The film is set to star the original cast of Arjun Rampal, Farhan Akhtar, Prachi Desai, Purab Kohli.
The additional star is Shraddha Kapoor who will act opposite Farhan Akhtar.
Our Sources also tell us that Shraddha Kapoor has been receiving singing lessons by Priyanka Chopra and is to sing three of the films songs.
A musical no doubt, sources are stating that a popular Shillong band Summersalt is to record a song with Farhan Akhtar and there are also plans to be featured in the film too!
A feast for the eyes no doubt.

The film is scheduled to release September 2016.
