Actor Ronit Roy is going to play a grey character in the Arjun Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer 2 States. Ronit said that he was not going to do the film at first. “When I told the production house that I don’t want to do the film, Karan called me and asked why. He asked me to trust him, and I could not say no to him. My role is more of a guest appearance and my character is grey” he added.
Co-produced by Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, 2 States is based on Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller ‘2 States: The story of my marriage’. This will be Ronit’s second film with Karan.
Ronit was appreciated for his role as a strict father in Udaan. He said that his role in this film is a little on the negative side too. “I will be playing Arjun’s father. It is a guest appearance but the character is strong,” he stated.
“I don’t think I am knowledgeable enough to carry a film alone. I am happy in television, and when it comes to a film I see who is making it. If the person is knowledgeable, I will do it,” he said.
2 States is a story about a Punjabi boy and a Tamil girl falling in love and the cross cultural chaos that they have to overcome. The film is being directed by Abhishek Verma.
