Rose Movies, helmed by producers Goldie Behl and Shrishti Arya, have a host of exciting projects in the pipeline. The production house recently managed to pull off a major casting coup and signed the successful combination of director Tigmanshu Dhulia and Irrfan Khan for Bade Bhaisaab, after the stupendous success of Paan Singh Tomar.
What’s more is that the producers have now roped in director Abhishek Sharma of Tere Bin Laden fame, the sleeper blockbuster of the year 2010. The director has just released his latest Akshay Kumar starrer The Shaukeens and will now start work for the film under the Rose Movies banner.
Titled Hume Aitraaz Hai, the film is a quirky comic satire and will be shot in New York and Faridabad. While the makers remain tight lipped about the movie, sources reveal that the film is still in its scripting stages and casting will start soon.
When contacted said producer Goldie Behl, “Abhishek Sharma is an ace at pulling off quirky social satires and we are excited to be working with him on an interesting concept.”
Confirming the news says director Abhishek Sharma, “I am very excited to collaborate with Goldie & Srishti as they are producers who have always backed concept driven films and are a great support system for any director. I am honoured to be a part of Rose movies banner.”
Says a source, “Producer Goldie Behl is looking to support and back concept-driven films with innovative,out-of-the box ideas. Having recently announced Bade Bhaisaab with Tigmanshu Dhulia and Irrfan Khan, Rose Movies has now signed Abhishek Sharma who made the industry sit up and take notice with his directorial debut. As a production house, they want to endorse smart versatile cinema that looks to redefine the way commercial cinema is looked at.”
