Salman Khan has made the character of elder Hanuman of his own for whom he has lent the voice in Ruchi Narain’s animated film Hanuman Da Damdaar.

The director recently revealed that they discussed scenes with the actor, who gave plenty of inputs, before he dubbed for the part. “You always remember Salman’s lines from his movies,” says Ruchi. “Working with him, you realise that he’s not only a big star, but also being Salim Khan saab’s son, he knows what works and he takes the dialogues to the next level,” she further adds.

The actor’s popular dialogues have been incorporated in the film like ‘Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di…” from Wanted and a few other dialogues too.

Interestingly, one of the most endearing scenes in the film features Hanuman and Valmiki, wherein the latter tells the former, ‘Tum aaj bhi dil se bachche ho.’ Reminiscing the scene, the director says, “Salman has made it very endearing and lovable.”

HANUMAN DA DAMDAAR with an ensemble cast featuring voice overs by Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Kunal Kemmu, Chunky Pandey, Vinay Pathak, Saurabh Shukla, Makrand Deshpande and Javed Akhtar is been produced by R.A.T. FILMS, presented by RNB film in association with R.A.T films and is slated to release on the 19th of May.

“Who said mythological characters cannot be youth icons, HANUMAN DA DAMDAAR is all about the fun, cute, cool Hanuman who will walk right into the hearts of people. He is as affable as he is innocent and is totally set to create a lot of fun this summers,” vouched Ruchi Narain.

HANUMAN DA DAMDAAR promises the kids a lot of fun, in a genre that has been sadly neglected in Bollywood. “Both animation and children’s film is a huge phenomenon all over the world but it has yet to be given its due in Bollywood, HANUMAN DA DAMDAAR is our attempt to remedy that,” expressed Ruchi.

Given it is an animation film, the damdaar response that it has got, has made history in itself. Crossing a million views for an animation film is considered as a record in India and HANUMAN DA DAMDAAR has beaten that record in merely 36 hours by a whooping 4 million views.

The trailer overloaded with cuteness, innocence and a healthy dose of fun is hard to miss, speaking about the phenomenal response to her film, writer and director, Ruchi Narain said, “We are overwhelmed by the response! Animation films are known to translate into worldwide blockbusters and we have worked really hard to bring that mounting and fun to family entertainment this summer…. with the most loved Indian superhero!
