Actor Salman Khan and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali have been associated since the days of Bhansali’s directorial debut Khamoshi. The relationship between the pair was such that whenever the director knocked on Khan’s door, Khan would ensure that he was always there to welcome him with arms wide open.
Rumour has it that Salman relayed the idea of remaking Hollywood flick Prestige to Bhansali. However, when he found out that Bhansali was planning to make the film with Hrithik Roshan, Salman was not a happy man. In fact he decided never to work with Bhansali in the future.
A close source has said “Sallu had agreed to be a part of Saawariya because of his old association (Khamoshi, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam) with Bhansali. Moreover, he had even taken time out to promote the film as the release date was clashing with Om Shanti Om that had Shahrukh Khan.
Saawariya was a launch pad for Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, both newbies. Yet Sallu did whatever Bhansali told him for the promotion of the film.”
Hopefully both actor and director will be able to sort their differences out soon and continue to make films together in the future.
