With the release of his big budget starrer Wanted just around corner, Salman Khan is taking every chance for promotion. From rumors of his purchasing an IPL team to a joint appearance with Shahrukh Khan on the reality show “Dance Premiere League,” Style-bhai is keeping his name in the press. But in case his name isn’t enough to get the audiences flocking to the cinemas, Salman Khan is going to strut his stuff on the catwalk as the showstopper of designer Vikram Phadnis’s collection at the second session of Kolkata Fashion Week which starts on the 9th of September.
One of the biggest fashion events in India, Emami Kolkata Fashion Week has roped in international cosmetics giant Max Factor as a sponsor. More than 40 fashion designers, including that stylist-to-the-stars and friend of Shahrukh Khan, Manish Malhotra, will be showcased. The show will also feature the work of traditional Bengali weavers. The theme for the whole event will be “Earth Couture,” celebrating India’s ethinic cultures. As Manish Malhotra explains, “The ‘Earth Couture’ theme is a very innovative thought and will definitely take fashion to a different level.”
While Salman Khan will certainly be the brightest star on the catwalk, other actors and actress lending their modeling skills are Rituparna Sengupta, Sameera Reddy, Amrita Rao, Rimi Sen, Neil Nitin Mukhesh, Sophie Choudhury and Neetu Chandra.
