Recently entering Bollywood south star Ram Charan won’t be leaving just yet. Last Tuesday Ram Charan flew from Hyderabad to Mumbai to meet with Salman Khan. The two had a private lunch at Salman’s home about working together. Ram Charan confirms the talk stating, “Yes, I was in Mumbai. I had come to meet Salman. We are working on a project together.”
Although there was controversy going on between Salman’s father Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar who was the write on the new Zanjeer film, Ram has not taken it into consideration as he defends Salman by saying, “Salman really couldn’t intervene in the matter involving the Writers’ Association. He couldn’t say anything beyond a point. Even Salim Khan Saab was very supportive. It’s just that he had to stand by Javed Akhtar Saab, or the writers’ community would have been offended. But to be honest they were fighting for a film that wasn’t anything like theirs.”
None of this bothers Ram at all as he is just too busy and moving onto his other projects. He’s currently got a Telugu film underway called Yevadu which is set to release today (Oct 10). Here he claims that it’s “a full-on action thriller. My fans like to see me fight. They rejected Thoofan (Zanjeer in Telugu) because most of the time I was just angry and seething silently. That’s not how they like to see me.”
Since Zanjeer didn’t get such a good response Ram is optimistic about his new project with Salman. “I’ve nowhere to go but ahead since I’ve touched rock-bottom with Zanjeer. Actually I had things much too easy so far. My life and my career were like a fairytale. I think I needed to be jolted.” Let’s hope this film gets a better response than his first one.
