The Jodhpur High Court has given Salman Khan, who was sentenced to five years in jail for poaching, permission to travel to London to unveil his wax statue at Madame Tussuad’s Wax Museum.

His lawyer, Dipesh Mehta, has confirmed that he will be traveling to London on the 14th of January. Mehta said, “He will unveil the statue the same day and return the next day.”

While filming for the movie Hum Saath Saath Hain, the actor was found guilty of poaching a chinkara, an endangered species of deer, close to Jodhpur in September 1998 and is currently out on bail.

Salman was convicted by a lower court on February 17, 2007.

The matter was taken up against him by the Bishnoi community of Rajasthan, who are traditional custodians of the natural environment.
