The Supreme Court recently passed a verdict which will see Sanjay Dutt serve his remaining three and half years in prison, having already spent 18 months in jail previously. This verdict has resulted in his cameo in the upcoming Ghanchakkar to be cancelled due to Sanjay’s circumstances and his surrender.

A source told NDTV, “Sanjay has been running against time to complete all his pending projects. He had a cameo in Vidya Balan’s next where he was supposed to play himself. The actor had agreed to do the role at his Lage Raho Munnabhai co-star’s insistence.”

It would seem no one else would be able to play this role but Sanjay himself, as another source added, “The role was perfect for Sanju Baba as he had to just play himself. So no one else can replace him. It’s just a cameo while there are other semi-completed projects awaiting his return.”

Although Sanjay Dutt’s cameo in Ghanchakkar has been dropped, T.P Aggarwal, the producer of Policegiri, said he was impressed with Sanjay’s professionalism of wanting to complete all projects before going to jail.
