A brand new song, ‘Sar Aankhon Pe Mere’, from Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par has dropped and it is heartfelt beauty. Composed by the brilliant trio of Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani, and Loy Mendonsa, aka Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, this soulful track brings another layer of light and depth to the film.

Sung by Arijit Singh, the moving video gives us more glimpses into the Sitaare Zameen Par world, including Genelia Deshmukh and Aamir Khan’s emotional connection and their character’s disconnection.

Here’s a fun fact: TOI has reported that the female singer Shariva Parulka, who is making her debut on this track, was a member of the Aamir Khan Productions team. She actually recorded the scratch track, which, in case you didn’t know, is a temporary version of a song used during the development process. When director R. S. Prasanna and Aamir Khan heard it, they loved her performance so much that they asked her to do the song for the OST as well.

Set to release on 20th June, Sitaare Zameen Par carries the tagline “Sabka Apna Apna Normal” (Everyone Has Their Own Definition of Normal), which champions inclusivity is perfect for this heartwarming film celebrating love, laughter, and happiness. It is the story of a lost basketball player who finds himself coaching a championship team of basketball players with intellectual disabilities. All the team players are played by specially abled actors — ten promising new talents, including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
