Traditions of doing a South film before making it big in Bollywood were broken with the hot and happening Sonakshi Sinha, who firmly has a holding in Bollywood with Shirish Kunder’s Joker, Salman Khan’s remake of the Telugu film Kick and Abbas-Mastan’s sequel Race 2 in her kitty. But now she is venturing to the south and has landed herself in Kamal Haasan’s next untitled film directed by Tamil director Selvaraghavan, a role that was supposed meant for Anushka Shetty.
Even as the film is still in its initial stages, with Kamal Haasan taking an interest in Sonakshi, all eyes are on the Dabangg actress as she will be expected to deliver up against the iconic actor. Sources close to the film have told Times of India that film is to be produced by a Hyderabad based production house and is supposed based of the cult classic Hannibal. “Since Sonakshi’s acting talents in Dabangg have been applauded, Kamal is keen to have her in the role essayed by Julianne Moore.”
