Shah Rukh Khan is adding another shade to his range of characters. For his, needless to say, highly anticipated film, King, the actor is bringing a dark avatar to the screen. He has played a villain before in films like Darr, Bazigaar , and Don, but there are various hues to the role in King that will take it up to 11 to make it even more interesting.
The actor at an earlier fan event gave a little, just a little insight into his King, “It’s not to say whether it’s a villain or not. Yes, he is a very dark character, a grey character. The character of King is very interesting. And it has a lot of evil in it. He’s a killer. He kills people. He is very ruthless.”
“Siddharth and Sujoy Ghosh have written it with a lot of love. And I think it will be very interesting,” he says.
Adding, “But for storytelling, heroes like me must play different roles: some inspiring, some comic, some romantic. So that’s what I’m trying to do now. I do one big film every one or two years because I also know that making films has become very difficult now. So films should be made carefully so that I don’t let people down. So I hope you love it.”
Apparently, all the lines he says in this title announcement will tell you who King is
About the title of the film and the title fans have given him, King Khan, SRK revealed to PTI, “The word ‘King’ has never meant power to me. It has always been about responsibility — to the people who believe in you and the stories you choose to tell. It’s more like a reminder to live with heart, humility, and purpose. What matters most to me is creating work that brings people together, makes them feel something, and leaves behind a little bit of joy.”
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King also features Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Rani Mukerjee, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Akshay Oberoi, and Raghav Juyal. The film, which we still need to know more about, will hit the big screen on the 24th of December!
