In a recent interview, Karan Johar revealed that he believed best bud Shah Rukh Khan would be a great director later on in life. He also divulged that SRK had written heaps of about his character in his upcoming film, My Name is Khan, “He had written reams of notes on how he wanted to interpret his character. And to him it was no big deal. He’s ready to direct a film any time. He will be outstanding at it.”

The director also went on to talk about My Name is Khan in his exclusive interview with Subhash Jha. He confirmed that MNIK will not have any dance numbers nor will it have any “lip sync” songs. The music will be directed by his favorite trio, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and penned by Niranjan Iyer and Javed Akhtar collaboratively. When asked about working with his preferred pair SRK and Kajol, he went on to say, “I am blessed to have them in my film. I don’t know what it is about them. It’s just magic.” And while both actors are extremely attached to their families but have managed to stay thoroughly professional, “I find Shah Rukh and Kajol alike in their attitude to work and family. They’re both so much into their spouses and kids. When the shot is over, they rush to their respective family. On location in LA between shots they spoke to each other about their respective families.”
