Shahid’s movie career is on a roll, his soon to be released Jab We Met with Kareena Kapoor is getting a lot of buzz and also in the pipeline is Aziz Mirza’s Lucky Charm with Vidya Balan. He has also signed to appear in Raj Kumar Santoshi’s yet untitled “straight-from-the heart” love story with Katrina Kaif.
“I haven’t made a simple love story before. Most of my films have been intense and soul-searching. I wanted to experiment with a boy-meets-girl story now that my Ajay Devgan-Vidya Balan film Halla Bol is ready,” says Santoshi.
Halla Bol, says Santoshi is; “It’s my take on an actor’s conscience and it’s awakening, but it isn’t preachy or solemn. I’ve tried to keep the message as entertaining as possible.”
But back to cutie Shahid, Santoshi has long wanted to work with the actor and at one time planned to have Shahid star opposite his father Pankaj Kapoor in an all out comedy. However now he has changed his plan, he decided he wanted to make a true romance film and says, “He’s got what it takes, and I know Shahid is capable of great intensity in romance.”
The film will begin filming in November and Santoshi hopes to have production finished by the end of the year.
After seeing Shahid in Vivah we are sure he can deliver a brilliant performance in this new project and look forward to seeing the pairing of Shahid with Katrina. We will keep you up to date on all the news about this great new film!
