Currently shooting in Scotland for his father, Pankaj Kapoor’s, forthcoming movie Mausam, Shahid Kapoor comes across as composed even in the most stressful or extraordinary situations.
Of late, the actor has been seen at many functions, sporting some facial hair. When quizzed about this change in look, the actor always seemed to shy away from giving away anything apart from confirming the look was indeed a necessity for the character he is playing in Mausam. However, much to co-star Sonam Kapoor’s surprise, when the shoot for the film commenced on Monday, Shahid arrived…. Clean-shaven. Confused?!
Well, it seems the decision to scrap the beard came in fear of failure. Many actors have sported facial hair in fitting with the characters only for the look to be received not-so-well by the masses. It’s thought this is particularly a bad move when the actor is so popular with the youthful generation.
A source from the unit of the film revealed that it’s not just Shahid’s exterior that has changed but the actor has also been advised by Daddy dearest to mingle on the sets with the whole crew and not just a known few, “Shahid is completely into his character. Long before we began shooting he lost his natural reticence and restrain. Suddenly he came out of his shell. His father assured him it was fine”.
Today, a prominent Indian news channel featured photos of Shahid’s new look for Mausam. The channel compared it to that of Veer Pratap Singh of Veer-Zaara crossed with Surinder in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, both played by King Khan. Although the similarities are uncanny, the role of an Air-Force pilot would, inevitably, require a look, which may have been seen before.
