Shahid Kapoor is certainly working hard these days. In the works are Kaminey directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, an untitled film for Yash Raj starring opposite Rani Mukerji and his dance film for Ken Gosh tentatively titled Yahoo. He is so busy that his long awaited project with his dad, well known actor Pankaj Kapoor, in the director’s chair has had to be pushed back.
Papa Kapoor told the Mumbai Mirror, “My film will be delayed as my son is extremely busy with his other films. He is working on Kaminey, a Yash Raj film and Pathshala. As these films’ schedules have been extended, my film has been pushed to mid 2009. I am planning to get the film on the floors before May 2009.”
The soon to be director revealed that the film will be a love story but that they are still working on the finer points in the script. He is looking forward to working with Shahid saying, “I am very happy about working on this film with Shahid.”
In other Shahid filmi news, as everyone knows Shahid is a fabulous dancer and his film, Yahoo, has him playing a dancer who wants to make it big. Interestingly, Shahid will be performing a new style of dance in the film called Krumping. Krumping is a hip-hop/street style of dance that originated in South Central LA. It is very aggressive style with lots of energy and emotion. Marty Kudelka, who has choreographed for Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson, is doing the choreography for the film.
A source told IANS: “Shahid has left no stone unturned to learn this form of dance. He appreciates the artistic and cultural nuances of the form and is doing pretty well.” In fact Matry was very impressed with his ability to take on the new style and said, “Shahid is one of the best dancers I have come across. He picks up the moves really fast.”
