Shakti, the fusion musical group that brings together Western music like Jazz, Celtic folk, Classical music with Hindustani and Carnatic music, in a unique sonic sound, features Shankar Mahadevan, John McLaughlin, Ganesh Rajagopalan, V. Selvaganesh and the late Tabla player Zakir Hussain, has been nominated for 2 Grammy awards for the 2026 Awards. They are nominated in the Best Global Music Album: Mind Explosion (50th Anniversary Tour Live) and Best Global Music Performance: Shrini’s Dream (Live).

This is the second time Shakti has been honored by The Grammys. They won their first Grammy for their 2024 album, This Moment, in the category of Best Global Music Album. Which, by the way, was the band’s first new studio album in 45 years!
