No, it’s not another cold war. Deepika Padukone and Sharmila Tagore, who we will see sharing screen space together for the first time as mother and daughter in the upcoming Break Ke Baad, are far from being at loggerheads with each other and will soon have more than their dimples in common.
While the director’s name has not been disclosed by Hindustan Times, talks of a remake of the 1972 film Amar Prem have risen, and Deepika has been approached for the famous role of a courtesan played by Sharmila in the original. Quiz the tall actress and she’s all smiles. “I think it’s a great compliment. I’d love to do a film like Amar Prem. I want to do a classic Hindi-film heroine’s part. That’s my true calling. I’m really looking forward to it.”
Both actresses are said to be getting along fabulously on the sets of Break Ke Baad with Deepika calling Sharmila “one of the most elegant ladies I’ve come across.”
