One of the movies that is on every Filmi fans ‘I need to see this on the big screen lists’ is Yash Raj Film’s ALPHA. Part of Aditya Chopra’s Spyverse, this one takes an exciting swerve and features female agents in an epic spy thriller. And those agents are played by the brilliant duo of Alia Bhatt and Sharvari!
Now, not much is known about this film; however, when it was title announced, Alia Bhatt is heard saying in the video, “Greek alphabet ka sabse pehla akshar aur humare program ka motto.. sabse pehle, sabse tezz, sabse veer. Dhyaan se dekho toh har sheher mein ek jungle hai. Aur jungle mein hamesha Raj karega… ALPHA (The first letter of the Greek alphabet and the motto of our programme… First, fastest, bravest. If you look carefully, there is a jungle in every city. And he will always rule the jungle!).” It’s the time of the ALPHA girls.

ALPHA is being directed by Shiv Rawail of the blockbuster global streaming series – The Railway Men fame, which YRF also produced. Aditya Chopra is leaving no stone unturned to make the first female-led YRF Spy Universe film into an action spectacle.
In a recent media interaction, Sharvari talked about being a part of a woman-led action film, something new to Hindi films: “ALPHA is a very exciting project. It will be released on Christmas this year. I’m really looking forward to bringing this film to the theatres, especially because it is the first spy universe film with two women leading it.”
ALPHA has been a challenge, the actress revealed, because of the action work, “What challenged me was the genre of the film, which is action; this genre is something that I have not done before. Though I did one film, Vedaa, in a similar space, it was more of survival action. ALPHA is obviously a more sleek and stylish action.”
Adding, “It truly is the first women’s action film. And I think that it will break a lot of glass ceilings. So, I’m excited and a little bit nervous about the film. I am keeping my fingers crossed.”
