Sheykhar Ravjiani, of the outstanding and noted Indian film music composers Vishal-Shekhar established his own label, Garuudaa Musiic in 2023, as a creative space for talented young and dynamic independent singers, composers, lyricists and music producers and to bring new music to the world. In the words of the label’s website, “Garuudaa Musiic is a musical universe that is filled with every imaginable colour that one can dream of. Just honest, good music from the heart that wants nothing else than to make you smile and take you higher. Garuudaa Musiic is here to make the world a happier place through our music. With the label, Ravjiani mentors talent composes, many of the tracks, and has also released several singles in his singer avatar. His newest track, ‘Nazar,’ just dropped, and it is absolutely fabulous.
Beginning with a brilliant and deep flamenco-infused guitar line performed by Deepak Verma, the soulful, emotional vocal by Sheykhar comes in, and it is music excellence. The song transposes to more of an Indie pop groove (in the best way) and adds even more layers to create an incredible world in a song. With soul-stirring lyrics by Kunaal Vermaa, it is a song of love and longing that will stay with you. As the tagline says: Nazar isn’t just a song you hear—it’s a song you feel. So true!
