All the wah-wahs for Dhurandhar seems to have gone to Akshaye Khanna’s head. He has just walked out of his commitment to doing the third part of the Drishyam franchise.
The producers have wasted no time in replacing Akshaye Khanna with Jaideep Ahlawat.
The post-Dhurandhar Akshaye Khanna is a reformed professional . Not only has he hiked his price to almost four times what it used be, he is now keen to cover his hairless head with a wig.
This is in direct contrast to what Khanna felt about his baldness before Dhurandhar.
A close director-friend was taken aback by Akshaye’s revised wig policy. “When he did my earlier film , he insisted on remaining wigless. ‘This is the way I am. Take or leave it. I don’t want to do anything that takes away from my natural personality,’ he said. And now he says he wants to wear a wig for all his roles, as he feels it has proven lucky for him.”
One of the reasons why Akshaye walked out of Drishyam 3 was the insistence on the wig. In Drishyam 2 he was bald. So the producers rightly argued that the wig would cause continuity problems. But Akshaye Khanna is adamant: no wig no show.
