With her career going from strength to strength following the success of her hit film Aashiqui 2, Shraddha Kapoor has now bagged a role in another music-oriented film. This time, she will be playing the female lead in Rock On 2, the sequel to the 2008 film starring Farhan Akhtar.
Rumours are that Alia Bhatt was also approached for the role, since both actresses have done some singing work such as Alia’s ‘Samjhawan Unplugged’ and Shraddha’s ‘Galliyan Unplugged.’ However, eventually the makers opted for Shraddha and she will now be paired opposite Farhan, Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli.
Rock On 2 will be directed by debutant Shujaat Saudagar, who will take over from Abhishek Kapoor, who directed the first Rock On film.
