The 11-year old, Shriya Sharma seems very much on top of the world nowadays. What can the reason be for a little girl’s excitement? Well as being a child actor she had the privilege to work with one of the Bollywood’s biggest superstars in the recently aired TV show called Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain. He is known for his looks, his acting and his charming presence as a host on TV shows, apparently girls love him, boys want to be like him, adults appreciate him, children adore him and he is the “best thing” that ever happened Shriya. He is none other than the King of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan.
When asked about her favourite actor on the phone, Shriya answered stating that “Shah Rukh is my favourite actor and I love being his princess. Being on ‘Paanchvi Paas’ has been my best experience”
As known for his friendly behaviour in the past it is also evident that he is much like that with the five kids on the sets as well. “He is so friendly and sometimes when we don’t know an answer on the show, he really encourages us. We have our kids’ room at the sets, so he also comes and plays with us there,” Shriya explained.
Shriya is also excited about her new film starring Saif and Rani, a Yash Raj production, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic directed by Kunal Kohli that released just yesterday.
The movie is about a man who doesn’t know how to love and is responsible for four orphan children who hate him and Shriya plays the role of one of the children. However, an angel comes and changes things around.
“We are the main characters in the film and I really enjoyed shooting for it. We went to Los Angeles, danced and learnt new steps,” Shriya told the media. “Shooting for the film was my second best experience ever”.
When asked about her co-star in TPTM, Saif Ali Khan, she said “Saif used to share riddles with us and teach us new gaming tricks. He is good, but Shah Rukh is the best!” She then talked about how her and the kids played cricket separately with Rani and Saif in the camps, separating the boys and the girls. Shahrukh is her favourite actor and Rani is her favourite actress, she revealed.
Shriya is expecting to win the child actor award this year; she thinks she really deserves the honor. She has received two awards so far. The first one was the Indian Telly Award for the best child artiste in 2004 and the second one was the Star Parivaar Award, which she won the same year. She has also worked in a Balaji Telefilm’s very popular soap Kasauti Zindagi Kay where she played the role of young Sneha Bajaj.
A girl in 6th grade has achieved a lot already as a child actor. However. if she doesn’t become an actor when she grows up, she would like to be an astronaut, she said.
