The girl who made all the hounds in the audience of Mission Istanbul sit up and beg with her sultry Angelina Jolie good looks, Shweta Bharadwaj, is working hard and looking forward to the future. Unfortunately, all the hard work meant she missed the opening of her first movie. “I couldn’t enjoy the release of my first film because I was shooting for my South film Indumati,” she explains, “In fact my friends would keep a tab on all that appeared in the newspapers and would call me back. Of course I went through all newspapers when I came back, but it isn’t the same.”
Shweta was linked with her co-star Vivek Oberoi during the making of the film – is anything on the cards there? “I think we were seen somewhere together during our shoot and they immediately paired us together. But seriously, I don’t even know Vivek that well,” she says.
Shweta is next up in the horror film Indumati and will then be seen in Bollywood’s comic-caper Loot, produced by Suniel Shetty. “We hatch a plan to rob a dreaded don in this film!” she says.
What’s Shweta like when she’s off-set? “I am loud and a happy-go-lucky girl who likes to hang around with good friends,” she comments. And which of the current crop of young actors would she most like to meet? “Shahid Kapoor!” she exclaims, “I’ve just loved his journey from Ishq Vishk to Jab We Met. I think he’s grown with every movie and looks hotter by the day. I would love to go on a date with him and talk about his experiences in Bollywood.”
