Shweta Bhardwaj, who stunned everyone at the Wills Lifestyle International Fashion Week with her look for designers Lecoanet and Hemant, will get more chance to practice in her new movie where she is required to don 72 different looks in just two hours. “I play the role of a French girl who’s a translator,” she explains, “She’s translating in different countries so there are 72 looks; like I’m 20 shades darker when I’m in Africa.”
Being a committed fashionista, Shweta doesn’t believe in stinting on quality and is prepared to pay the price. “I once bought a saree which cost me three and a half lacs,” she says, “If you talk about the future, then I would like to buy an eleven lacs lehenga for my wedding!”
Shweta made her Bollywood in Mission Istanbul and made a big impact down South with Indumathi. She believes it was a TV commercial that gave her the big break. “It was Suniel Shetty who had first noticed my commercial and thought I would be the perfect face for the role of Lisa Lobo in Mission Istanbul,” she says, “I met Suniel Shetty and Apoorva and that meeting sealed the deal.”
