Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse smashes records in India and is a certified hit at the global box-office

Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse, the new adventure in the animated Spider-Man Spider-Verse saga has ensared the global box office in its web (‘THWIP’) and has emerged as a huge hit! Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, the film features Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Jake Johnson, Jason Schwartzman, Issa Rae, Karan Soni, with Daniel Kaluuya and Oscar Isaac.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse. Based on the MARVEL COMICS character, the movie follows the story of Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, he is catapulted across the Multiverse, where Miles encounters the Spider Society, a team of Spider-People charged with protecting the Multiverse’s very existence. But when the heroes clash on handling a new threat, Miles is pitted against the other Spiders and must set out to save those he loves most. Anyone can wear the mask – it’s how you wear it that makes you a hero.

One of the other avatars of Spidey in the Spider Society is the first Indian Spider-Man, Pavitr Prabhakar, voiced by Karan Soni of Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Four Samosas, among many others.

In North America, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse made $17,350,000 for Thursday early shows making it the second highest preview gross of all-time for any animated film behind Incredibles 2 and the second highest preview gross for any Spider-Man film behind Spider-Man: No Way Home. POW!

In India, it smashed records. Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse scored a record-breaking launch, topping the local all-time opening day record for an animated movie with $610,000 while releasing on a non-traditional Thursday. The opening day gross is higher than the total weekend gross of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and The Little Mermaid. The film also set records in India for an animated movie with the widest release ever (2,000+ screens) and the most languages at 10 – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, and the original English. India’s opening weekend added to a stunning $2.8 million and is still going strong.

Coming to the total global opening weekend, Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse raked in $209 million. In fact, it is being called the number one film in the world! Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse is expected to cross $300 million this coming weekend. BANG!

Also, this adventure of Spider-Man is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a current 96% critics score and 98% audience score.
