Kailash Kher has come a long way in order to find success in Bollywood. A man who once used to call the platform of Mumbai’s Andheri railway station his home, is now residing in the high-class area of Lokhandwala. He started of small by doing jingles for ads and brand name products like Nakshatra diamonds. His big break in singing came in a small movie by the name of Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II. The movie itself was a box office failure but it made Kailash Kher a well known singer among insiders.

The song ‘Allah Ke Bande’ became a huge hit as Sufi numbers were the latest trend in the music world and took the number one spot in music charts for six consecutive weeks. Kailash’s unique singing style was disregarded at first, as his voice did not match any stars’. But the rawness and simplicity that his voice posseses helps make his song very appealing. He does not try to mimic anyone but just be himself. He brings out a rainbow of emotions in his songs that really touches souls. It is being said that he has “the soul of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan” and to a certain extent one would agree.

Kailash credits his father for influencing him on his music as he used to hum folk songs all day. Unknown to many, Kailash also has his own band by the name of Kailasaa who recently released an album by the same name. It’s a very soulful album that is getting its deserved share of success. Kailash is also getting many offers for Bollywood movies. His latest ‘O Sikander’ from the movie Corporate is a rage.
