With Yuvvraaj only days away now from release, director Subhash Ghai is excited but all he wants is approval from the audiences. And what if he doesn’t get that approval? Ghai is quick to respond to an interview to Hindustan Times, “I’m disappointed but never demoralised. After 15 years, I don’t have to prove my talent any more. I just wish the criticism wouldn’t get personal… rip the performance if you don’t like it but not the performer.”
After directing major hits like Kalicharan, Hero, Ram Lakhan and Karz Ghai was on a major high. However, in recent years he too has seen a lull in his career with the failure of Yaadein and Kisna. This creative director however bounced back quickly and now has the grandeur Yuvvraaj up for release.
The movie has been extensively shot in Prague and Vienna. Ask Ghai what he thinks of his upcoming movie and he says, “With the exception of Black & White which focused on an issue, all my films have been about magnum moments and beautiful frames. Yuvvraaj is an oft-told story of three bothers but the presentation makes it different.” His daughter is quick to add in, “It’s a family album that will leave you with a smile… just like ours.”
With Yuvvraaj out in cinemas on November 21st, we’re sure his fans will be flocking to see what story Ghai has to tell this time.
