Sunny Deol and his brother Bobby are shattered. Their super-hero has betrayed them. Even superheroes have an expiry date. Dharamji’s devoted sons were not aware of this final truth until now.
Now that Dharamji has proven himself as mortal as any of us, Sunny sees himself as the patriarch of the family. And he is determined to do the right thing by his stepsisters.
A very close family friend of the Deols spoke on Sunny’s behalf to this writer. “These stories about inheritance disputes between Sunny-Bobby and Esha-Ahana are rubbish, and very ill-timed. No one is a pauper here. There will be no drama, no dispute.”
In fact, Hema Malini and his daughters are not inclined to make any demands on Dharamji’s property.
“But Sunny will not keep them out of the family inheritance. Right now, he is too bereaved to think about the road ahead. But one thing is for sure: Esha and Ahana will be part of the Deol family, as their father would have wished,” says the family friend.
I remember my conversations with Sunny on his father. “My father is my God. To this day I can’t look into his eyes while speaking to him. His happiness, his consent mean the world to me.”
