Sultry actress Tabu, somewhat absent from our screens last year, has started the new year in a big way by being the first cover girl of the year for Vogue magazine. In this issue, she talks about the highs and lows of her career so far. “Whether you celebrate the Indian volupte, or debate over India trying hard to loose her curves, shape remains an important issue and pre-occupation for us,” says Priya Tanna, the editor of Vogue India. “Keeping this in mind, our January issue has been dedicated to shape — dressing for each size, women who have embraced their unique shapes and living your fittest life ever. Tabu embodies the quintessential Indian silhouette for us. A consummate performer and an earthy beauty, she is undoubtedly the champion for both real curves and real women.”

Tabu will next be seen in Season’s Greetings in which she plays an Indian wife in LA. The film will also see the Sen sisters – Raima and Riya appearing together in a Bollywood movie for the first time. She is also lined up for a Cheeni Kum sequel opposite Amitabh and The Legend of Kunal based on the life of Ashoka The Great. Amitabh may play Ashoka. Then there’s Toh Baat Pakki opposite Sharman Joshi and finally, she will perform in Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai, a remake of My Cousin Vinny.

Tabu made a big impact in Chandni Bar and Maqbool and more recently has appeared in Cheeni Kum, The Namesake and Fanaa. She also manages to maintain a thriving career in the South in both the Tollywood and Kollywood industries.
