Rising Indian actor Taha Shah Badussha is continuing his upward trajectory following the success of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, describing his latest project, Nazdeekiyan, as a “full-circle moment” in his career.

The upcoming relationship drama, which will stream on Prime Video, marks Badussha’s reunion with producer-director Karan Johar, years after his early association with Dharma Productions on Gippi (2013) and Baar Baar Dekho (2016). The new series, backed by Dharmatic Entertainment, the digital content arm and a subsidiary of Dharma Productions, signals a rise in the actor’s star power.

Backed by Johar’s banner, Nazdeekiyan explores modern relationships and emotional complexities, focusing on the art of the moment and character-driven streaming content. The project, directed by Ruchir Arun, also stars Paresh Pahuja, Aakanksha Singh, and Nikita Dutta, forming a fresh ensemble cast.

Badussha said, “From being a part of Dharma’s Gippi and Baar Baar Dekho to now collaborating again with Karan Johar, it truly feels like a full-circle journey. After working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, I’m excited to explore a completely new space with Nazdeekiyan. I’m grateful and really looking forward to audiences experiencing it.”

Badussha’s recent collaboration with auteur filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Heeramandi marked a turning point, earning him recognition for his performance and range in a large-scale production. With Nazdeekiyan, he transitions into a more contemporary, relationship-driven narrative space, showcasing his versatility as a performer.

As Indian streaming content continues to expand its international footprint, Nazdeekiyan is part of the exciting new wave of globally accessible storytelling from established production houses, and fans are eager to see what is coming next.
