Amitabh Bachchan, who’s synonymous with his booming baritone, has sung in many of his films over four decades. Once again, he has lent his voice to a soulful song for the upcoming psychological thriller, TE3N, releasing on 10th June.

The song titled Kyun Re, which has been penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and composed by Clinton Cerejo, is pivotal to the movie. The film directed by Ribhu Dasgupta also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balan.

Talking about the song, Mr Bachchan said, “After listening to tunes and the words that Amitabh narrated me, I felt to do it. We went ahead and did it.”

Adding, “It’s always very frightening for me to sing a song because I am not a singer and especially when you have people like Clinton Cerejo (music director) sitting six inches away from you. Clinton did not want (the song) to be sung whole-heartedly.”

Bachchan plays a veteran whose granddaughter went missing, and whose search he has still not abandoned, even when the police have lost hope in the case. The song Kyun Re explores the emotions of the grandfather, as he copes with the loss of his ray of light in his life.

Endemol Shine India, Reliance Entertainment and Blue Water Films, in association with Sujoy Ghosh present Te3n (‘Three’), A Cinemaa Pictures and Kross Pictures Production. Releasing worldwide on 10th June, distributed by Reliance Entertainment.
