Bollywood artists no longer simply attend fashion weeks to walk the ramp as showstopper or to grace the front row. The stars have now turned fashion designers. At Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW) A/W 2015, Sushant Singh Rajput, aka ‘Byomkesh Bakshy’, in association with his director Dibakar Banerjee and with a little expert advice from designer Narendra Kumar Ahmad, launched a Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!-inspired fashion line, Noir 43. The film is set in Kolkata in 1943 during World War II and Sushant’s collection is an interpretation of the look of the zeitgeist. The Bengali dhoti is a key part of the collection alongside suits, jackets and trousers inspired by British men’s tailoring of the 1940s.
Yash Raj Films presents Dibakar Banerjee’s Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, releasing worldwide on 3rd April 2015.
