The Family Man celebrated at the prestigious 56th International Film Festival of India

The eagerly awaited third season of the spy action-thriller series, The Family Man, opened to loud applause and cheers in a packed auditorium during the Gala Premiere at the prestigious International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on November 21. Streaming globally, the first episode of the critically-acclaimed cult series The Family Man was showcased at the premiere, which was attended by Sahira Nair, Head of Hindi Scripted Series, Prime Video India, the creator-writer-director duo Raj and DK, Manoj Bajpayee, Jaideep Ahlawat, Nimrat Kaur, and writer Suman Kumar, who has also directed this season along with Tusshar Seyth.

The team from the series was felicitated by Shri Prabhat, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, and post-screening, engaged with attendees in an immersive conversation about the latest season, the progression of the storyline and character arcs, and the addition of the stellar cast as antagonists.

Creators, directors, and writers Raj and DK said, “Coming to IFFI has always been special for us, ever since our first time here with Go Goa Gone and also the second season of The Family Man. Watching the first episode of Season 3 with such a wonderful audience, who gave us an overwhelming reception, was an incredible experience, especially as the love and positive reviews from fans and the press began pouring in. We’ve put in our very best to make Season 3 bigger, better, and more entertaining, and we’re confident the audience will enjoy watching it.”

Manoj Bajpayee added, “The character of Srikant Tiwari, despite being a spy is very relatable and has become a household name because of the love fans have showered on the series. On playing the antagonist in the latest season, Jaideep Ahlawat said, “It has been an incredible experience to be a part of The Family Man franchise and to take on a negative role opposite India’s most-loved family man, Srikant Tiwari. Raj, DK and Suman have written such a nuanced character in Rukma, very different from any of my previous roles, which made the preparation and performance a truly exciting experience for me.”

Created by the powerhouse duo Raj & DK under their banner—D2R Films, the series marks the return of the iconic spy, Srikant Tiwari (Manoj Bajpayee), who now finds himself on the run along with his family from not only formidable new adversaries— Rukma (Jaideep Ahlawat) and Meera (Nimrat Kaur), but also from TASC, his own intelligence unit. With the tables turned and his life unraveling, the hunter has now become the hunted in an exhilarating new season that is replete with all the signature elements fans have come to love and expect from the series.

Written by Raj, DK, and Suman Kumar, featuring dialogues by Sumit Arora, the groundbreaking series is directed by Raj & DK, with Suman Kumar and Tusshar Seyth joining as directors this season. Also returning this season in pivotal roles are Sharib Hashmi (JK Talpade), Priyamani (Suchitra Tiwari), ­Ashlesha Thakur (Dhriti Tiwari), Vedant Sinha (Atharv Tiwari), Shreya Dhanwanthary (Zoya), and Gul Panag (Saloni), among others.
