The Girlfriend Director Hits Back At Troll With Strong Language, Ravindran Responds In An Exclusive

[socialBuzz]

The affable softspoken director of The Girlfriend is now in the eye of a storm. When a troll abused Rahul Ravindran for his writing in The Girlfriend, the director hit back using strong language. The tweet has now gone viral. Rahul not only gave the troll back in its own colourful language, he asked the abuser to spread more venom so the film gets more attention.

The director’s uncharacteristically aggressive response comes as surprise, as he is known to be extremely decorous in his behaviour.

When this writer contacted Rahul he explained why he gave tit for tat to the troll. “The whole thing has been very obviously taken out of context and put out. Let me explain. There were basically these 4-5 handles that just repeatedly coming, repeatedly kept abusing on my timeline.”

This is when Rahul decided to hit back. “In a very good mood actually—I had just read a beautiful blog about the film–so in a very good mood, I replied to him in his language and then you take that out of context and make an article like this, what can I even say, that’s not what happened at all and it actually ended quite beautifully, that boy came and apologized and I apologized back to him and he said some nice things and I said some nice things, but I was just making a point to them, just repeatedly coming and abusing me is not acceptable. Like or dislike my film. But don’t get abusive, please.”
