Kamal Hassan is almost ready with his next film Vishwaroop, a bi-lingual spy thriller, in both Hindi and Tamil. It is already being touted as Kamal Hassan’s Ra.One, with a budget of 120 crore, his most expensive yet. The script, dialogues and direction are all by Kamal Hassan and music is by popular trio Shankar Eshaan Loy, who have composed the songs in both Hindi and Tamil. The film has been shot in Jordan, Mumbai and Chennai so far.

Rahul Bose is playing a negative role in the film, his second in the many years since he first starred in Takshak, but the real casting coup has been acclaimed director Shekar Kapur, who is reportedly playing Kamal Hassan’s uncle in the film. He commented “I have just finished a hectic schedule of shooting for Viswaroopam. Working with Kamal Hassan was a great experience. The screenplay, dialogues and lyrics written by Kamal Haasan are preciously meaningful in combination with an intriguing tale.”

To add to his mega-budget, Hassan has roped in one of Hollywood’s most accomplished stunt directors Lee Whittaker, who has co-ordinated stunts for the likes of Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and George Clooney. He is also more famously remembered for his stunts in ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘Pearl Harbour’. Whittaker has been mightily impressed with the commitment showed by Kamal Hassan and co-star Rahul Bose, in what can be best described as a “suicidal stunt”. Kamal Hassan shared “I’ve done a lot of risky stuff. Let’s just say what I’m doing now is exceedingly risky…the fight (sequence) is dangerously enjoyable” and Rahul Bose added “It is a big action film…the action sequences require a lot of technicalities which are taking time.”

If that all wasn’t enough, rumour has it that Kamal Hassan will be releasing the film in two separate parts, much like Tarantino’s ‘Kill Bill’ volumes and Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Rakht Charitra’ installments and is speedily readying his film for a special preview at this years 65th Festival de Cannes, which takes place between 16th May and 27nd May 2012.
