The response was indeed phenomenal; many fans also expressed their fondness for the actor.
The Lunchbox released on September20, 2013 and has been showcased at numerous prestigious film festivals across the globe, it also won many accolades and awards in India and internationally. It was the first Indian film to be awarded the prestigious Toronto Film Critics Association Award 2014.
