Eesha Koppikar appears to have been on a roll since changing her name from Isha. Does she agree that she’s going through a lucky period? “Yes, but I’d like to think it has nothing to do with numerology, but more to do with my hard work,” she says.

Eesha currently has a far from glamourous role in Ek Vivaah Aisa Bai. Is she worried about this? “Who is not scared of being typecast?” she asks, “But, I am not frightened because I have always experimented with different roles. I admit that I have done a few films that I could have avoided, but I’d not like to talk about them. I have learnt from my mistakes.”

More than most, Eesha has had problems with typecasting – forever being known as the Khallas girl because of the magnificent item song she did at that time for Ram Gopal Varma’s Company. Does she regret this now? “I don’t regret doing the Khallaas song and setting my image as an item girl with that. I am very happy that I am still known as the Khallas girl. I have bought a beautiful home and a car after this song. It turned out to be a stepping stone of my career. I wouldn’t be here if the song had not made me popular.”

Eesha, who has been a bit quiet since Girlfriend, 36 China Town and Don, has a number of projects currently in hand including Hello Darling and Right Yaa Wrong. She is very happy at the moment and eager to talk about her boyfriend Timmy Narang: “You can say this is the best period of my life,” she says “My love life is going good and I am happy to get a break in such a big banner. I couldn’t ask for more at this moment from life.”
