The infamous duo Sajid-Wajid have composed a peppy item number for Himmatwala, and have christened it as ‘Mummy item’ since it offers a mix of features.
“Most of the films have item songs. But this song is the Mummy item, which means it is the mother of all item songs,” said Sajid at the music launch of the film. Wajid said that one of the main reasons is for the first time, Sheila and Munni i.e. Sunidhi Chauhan and Mamta Sharma will “be singing together along with Bappi Lahiri.
Sajid added, This item features five topmost actresses from their different states and five different languages, which is also the reason why it is called the ‘mummy’ item.”
Director Sajid Khan apparently wanted this remake of the 1983 hit film to be his directorial debut and he said that he had been writing the draft keeping Ajay Devgn in mind right from the beginning. “Although my first film was Heyy Babyy in 2007, I have been writing Himmatwala and wanted that to be my debut as a director. I have always wanted Ajay for this film and whenever I closed my eyes and tried to picture a poster of Himmatwala, I saw Ajay,” he added.
Himmatwala will hit the theatres on March 29 and also features Tamannah, Paresh Rawal and Mahesh Manjrekar.
