Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal along with many other Bollywood celebrities are going to be part of the “Rock On for Humanity: In Aid of the Children of Bihar” concert, a fundraiser to aid the victims of the massive flooding in Bihar. The event is being held on October 31st from 5 until 10 pm at the MMRDA Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai.

In August of this year, the torrential rain in Bihar caused massive flooding and over 3.3 million people have been impacted by the horrible situation. Neither the rains nor the water have receded so not only has there been no chance to recover, conditions are getting worse. The Prime Minister has declared the floods a calamity and it is estimated by international NGO ActionAid that about 2,000 people have died.

Millions are without the basic necessities of life: food, clean water, shelter and basic health support. The government along with many aid agencies are trying to get aid to those who need it but with the water still rising it is very difficult.

In order to provide help Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Ritesh Sidhwani organized the “Rock On for Humanity” concert in the hopes that it will “Improve the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity”.

Scheduled to perform at the concert are: Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Pentagram, Pindrop Violence, Raghu Dixit Project, Rabbi, Them Clones, Shaan, Kunal Ganjawala, Dream Out Loud, Something Relevant, Shaa’ir + Func, Kailasa, Avial, Parikrama featuring Saif Ali Khan and Farhan Akhtar.

Supporting the cause are Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Priya Dutt and many more!

We applaud all who are involved for starting this wonderful initiative and hope they can raise lots of funds to help the people of the devastated region. Tickets to the event will be available on 21st October on www.bookmyshow.com. If you can, get out there and support this great cause and rock out at the same time! We will keep you updated if there is any more news so check back here often.
