15jun_TheVoiceIndia-BlindWk4-01Week 4 of the popular new musical reality show The Voice India, continued with the fourth round of the Blind auditions. As the coaches aimed to fill up their remaining spaces in their teams, the competition to choose the best singers just got a whole lot tougher!

The first contestant of Saturday’s episode was Passang Doma Lama. Passang is 19 years old and she originates from Gangtok, Sikkim. Passang performed a lovely religious ‘Bhajan’ which pleasantly surprised the ‘fabulous four’ coaches, as the Bhajan also carried a number of classical traits. Coach Mika was the first to buzz, followed closely by coach HR. Coaches Shaan and Sunidhi did not buzz this time. Passang chose to be in team Mika! The second contestant was Vishva Shah. Vishva is 25 years old and is from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Vishwa performed ‘Tu Hi Re’ from Bombay. Coach Shaan was the first to buzz, followed by coaches Mika and Sunidhi. Surprisingly, coach HR did not buzz this time! After much competition, Vishwa chose to be in team Sunidhi.

15jun_TheVoiceIndia-BlindWk4-02The third contestant was Deepak Gupta. Deepak sang ‘Chand Sifarish’ from Fanaa. Coincidentally, the original song was sung by coach Shaan! Unfortunately, none of the coaches buzzed for Deepak. They felt he lacked the necessary feeling that was required for the song. The fifth contestant was Bharti Gupta who is Deepak’s sister! Bharti sang ‘Aa Zara’ from Murder 2. It is another coincidence that this song is originally sung by coach Sunidhi! Again sadly, none of the coaches buzzed for Bharti! However, Bharti was lucky enough to perform ‘Aa Zara’ on stage with coach Sunidhi!

The fifth contestant was Varsha Singh. Varsha is 27 years old and is from Bareily, UP. Varsha performed ‘Kamli’ from Dhoom 3. Kamli was also originally sung by coach Sunidhi! This time, coach HR was the only one who buzzed for Varsha, right before the end of her performance! This surprised the other coaches as they felt that Varsha had sung out of ‘sur’ in many places. While coach HR agreed to this, he also said that with the right guidance, he felt that Varsha could develop her voice and style. Varsha naturally joined team Himesh! The sixth contestant was Arpita Khan. Arpita is 23 years old and is from Kolkata, West Bengal. Arpita performed the song (which has been originally sung by coach Sunidhi) ‘Niyaat Kharab Hai’ from Teen Patti. Coach Mika was the first to buzz followed swiftly by coaches Sunidhi, Shaan and HR! All four tried their level best to coax Arpita into their team, but eventually, Arpita chose to be in team Shaan.

15jun_TheVoiceIndia-BlindWk4-03The seventh contestant was Deepa Vishwakarma. Deepa is 32 years old and she is from Jabalpur, MP. Deepa sang ‘Tum Hi Ho’ from Aashiqui 2. Coach Mika was the only one to buzz for Deepa and so she naturally joined team Mika.

Sunday’s episode opened with the coaches mentioning that they only have a few spaces left to fill in their teams. Coach Sunidhi had 4 places left to fill, coach Shaan also had 4 left, coach HR had just 3 left and coach Mika had 5 places left. Host Karan tried his hand at impressing coach Sunidhi but failed miserably (!)

The first contestant was Harjot Kaur Arora. Harjot is 17 years old and is from New Delhi. I unfortunately, did not recognise the song that Harjot sang. Coaches Sunidhi, Shaan and Mika all buzzed for Harjot. Coach HR did not buzz this time. Harjot chose to be in team Mika. The second contestant was Dushyant Rupolia. Dushyant is 22 years old and he is from Sagar, MP. Dushyant sang ‘Mitwa’ from Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. Coaches Mika and Shaan buzzed for Dushyant whereas coaches Sunidhi and HR did not buzz this time. Dushyant chose to be in team Mika.

15jun_TheVoiceIndia-BlindWk4-04The third contestant was Mou Chatterjee. Mou sang the classical ‘Piya Bavari’. Sadly, none of the coaches buzzed for Mou. The fourth contestant was Aishwarya Anand. Aishwarya is 19 years old and is from New Delhi. Aishwarya sang ‘Dil Mera Muft Ka’ from Agent Vinod. Coach Sunidhi was seen dancing at her chair whilst Aishwarya was singing! Coach Shaan was the only one who buzzed and Aishwarya naturally became part of team Shaan. The fifth contestant was Shuchi Arora. Shuchi is 18 years old and is from Palwal, Haryana. She sang a folk song called ‘Challa’. Her initial coach choices were HR and Shaan. Coaches HR and Mika buzzed for Shuchi and as Shuchi chose to be in team Himesh, our HR gave the much awaited ‘Dhina Dhin Dha!’ moment!

The sixth contestant was Atit Kumar Pandey. Atit is 22 years old and is from Patna, Bihar. Atit sang ‘Sajda’ from Kill Dil. Coach HR buzzed within 3 seconds followed by the rest of the coaches. HR felt that Atit’s performance was one of the best so far! As all four competed for Atit, Atit chose to be in team Sunidhi! Our HR’s reaction to this was the sweetest and funniest of all! The seventh contestant was Akshay Ghanekar. Akshay is 24 years old and is from Pune. Akshay sang ‘Muskurane ki Wajah’ from Citylights. Coache Mika and HR were the only ones who buzzed. Akshay chose team Mika!

At the end of week 4 of the Blind Auditions, coach Sunidhi has 3 spaces left in her team, coach Shaan has 2, HR has 2 and Mika has 2. Watch The Voice India every Saturday and Sunday 9pm only on &TV! Stay with BollySpice for all the updates!
