There have been many crossover stars between the different industries in India and the latest actor to join the clan is Telugu actor Rana Daggubati who is marking his debut in Hindi films with Dum Maaro Dum with Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and Pratiek.
The actor who has spent years behind the camera made his debut as an actor in the Telugu political drama Leader, a move most found quite interesting. But as the actor has often said, he has always wanted to do something a little different when it comes to movies. From Leader, his next step Dum Maaro Dum appears to be also somewhat away from the commercial fare. For his role in the film the actor like other actors that crossed the border Suriya Sivakumar, Vikram and Priyamani, has also brushed on his Hindi and will be heard speaking his own lines in the film. “We have designed the sound such that most of the film is recorded in sync sound. So you will get to hear the real Rana” says director Rohan Sippy, who not only is happy with the choice of Rana for DJ Joki but says physically it has worked well with Rana being a tad taller than Abhishek, a fact AB Jnr made known through his twitter account as well.
Expectations are rising and with the release date nearing, Dum Maaro Dum definitely has the audience and Bollyspice’s interest peaked.
