7. Sanjay Dutt
He perhaps made the biggest headline in the industry for the entire year. Sanju was sentenced to jail for six years for possession of weapons way back in 1993 and nothing made a splash in the industry quite like this. As a matter of fact, the industry was at a standstill when it happened. Luckily, he is out on bail now and has resumed work again. Speaking of work, his work this year wasn’t too shabby. He started the year with Eklavya, in which his role was small, but many felt he was the scene stealer whenever he appeared on screen. Then he was seen in Shootout at Lokhandwala, in which he gave a terrific performance and helped the film become a success. Then he starred in Dhamaal, which gave him yet another hit and Dus Kahaniyaan, which was a failure, but got him credit for trying something different as he produced the film, along with buddy Sanjay Gupta. For 2008, he has lined up EMI, Mr. Fraud, Kidnap, Aladdin, and Alibaug.
