9. Paresh Rawal (Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Mumbai Mere Jaan, Mere Baap Pehle Aap, Maharathi, Maan Gaye Mughul-e-Azam, Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye)
Well established now in the industry as a comic actor with immaculate timing, Paresh Rawal, a veteran of over two hundred movies, has had a good year with performances such as Inspector Baghmare in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, the excellent Mumbai Mere Jaan and Mere Baap Pehle Aap, the fascinating movies Maharathi and Firaaq and the less successful Maan Gaye Mughul-e-Azam. He finished the year with the fun movie Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye! Maharathi is a must-see movie which unfortunately got swamped by the aftermath of the Mumbai attack. It’s Paresh’s first outing as producer and promises a great future for him in this role. Essentially a murder mystery with an intriguing plot, Paresh succeeded in bringing together a who’s who of the best actors in Bollywood for the cast – Boman Irani, Naseruddin Shah, Om Puri and Neha Dhupia.
