It seems as if Dhurandhar has finally met its match. Nidhi Dutta and T Series’ Border 2 has opened to a massive response all across India.
If this box-office momentum continues over the weekend, Border 2 is likely to emerge the first significant hit of 2026 and the project to break Dhurandhar’s spell over the boxoffice.
Roshan Singh, a prominent exhibitor of Bihar says the audiences’ response is tremendous. “After Dhurandhar , this (Border 2) is the film where audiences are going wild in movie theatres. War films have not been doing well lately. This one breaks the jinx.”
Asked what are the USPs of Border 2, Roshan promptly replies, “Sunny Deol, Sunny Deol and Sunny Deol. Then comes the song ‘Sandese aate hain’. Audiences are jumping out of their seats at the sound of the old hit from Border in 1997.”
Trade Guru Taran Adarsh who has given a 4.5 stars to Border 2 in his review feels this could be the war film audiences were waiting for. “It’s still too early to comment. Both are big-ticket films. Dhurandhar has already proven its box-office might, while Border 2 has just begun its journey — and it has started with a bang. If big films perform well, it’s always a healthy sign for the industry. Let’s hope Border 2 sustains the momentum and emerges as a smashing blockbuster in its own right.”
